What does career growth look like at Chick-fil-A? Most people start off working as a team member in the Front of House or Back of House. It can take 4-8 weeks to learn all of the positions in the Front of House or Back of House. It takes approximately 6-8 months to become proficient in every position. Once a team member is proficient in all positions, they are eligible to become a shift leader. Shift leaders run the shifts and are responsible for training new team members. Shift Leaders can be promoted to Senior Leaders. Senior leaders are responsible for leading various areas of the restaurant. Senior Leaders can be promoted to Directors. Directors are responsible for restaurant system and process at the highest level.
